Welcome!

Welcome to Renewed Faith Media’s first film review!

Depending on where you are in the world, the Sabbath may have already started, so I’d like to take the opportunity to wish you a Happy Sabbath and hope that you receive abundant blessings from the Lord on the glorious day of rest He has given us.

Renewed Faith Media is hot off the press! It was started very recently, with the goal of publishing a weekly blog and podcast, right after the Sabbath begins.

So you’re probably wondering why I started Renewed Faith Media?

I have favourite films spread over several Christian film streaming services, but found that there weren’t many films on the individual sites that came close to completely honouring the Word. Am I saying that most of the Christian films on these sites did not have God in mind when they made their films? No, but there are usually deviations from the Word, to a less or greater degree.

What does Renewed Faith Media use as a benchmark for its reviews?

The Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:1-17)

  • You won’t find films on our list that glorify the breaking of the commandments for entertainment purposes.

  • You won’t find films on our list that promote Sunday as the biblical rest day, since the Word says that the Lord set aside and blessed the 7th day of the week as our day of rest, calling it the Sabbath. Sabbath is the day of the week that mainstream society refers to as Saturday.

We use the doctrine from the early church which relates to:

  • Scripture alone being our authority (2 Timothy 3:15-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Luke 24:25-27)

  • Our salvation being only through Jesus Christ’ sacrifice on the cross (Ephesians 2:1-10, Isaiah 59:12, Job 33:22-24)

  • Jesus’ Second Coming (Titus 2:11-13, 1 Corinthians 15:14-23, John 14:1-3)

  • Sabbath (Genesis 2:1-3, Exodus 20:8, Matthew 5:17-19)

  • The State of the Dead: we go to heaven when Jesus returns, not before (John 3:13, 1 John 4:12,1 Timothy 6:15-16, Romans 2:6, 1 Corinthians 15:50-55)

  • The Sanctuary in heaven, where Jesus is now, mediating for us (1 Timothy 2:4-5, Hebrews 7:24-25, Hebrews 10:19-22)

  • The standard of Christian living:

Marriage is a covenant between a man, a woman and God (Matthew

19:4-5,

The man’s role as the leader of his home and the local church (Genesis 3:16,

1 Corinthians 11:3)

The value of human life (Jeremiah 1:4-5, Psalm 139:13-14)

Modesty in dress (1 Timothy 2:9, 1 Peter 3:3)

Our body as the temple of the Holy Spirit (avoid addictions) Galatians

5:19-21, Proverbs 20:1, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

As we live in an imperfect world, some of the films we will review may still fall short in one aspect of the doctrine of the early church, but they will be what we consider to be the closest matches to the Word of God. The hope is that Christian filmmakers will honour the Lord with new films that only stand on the foundation of His Word.

A new review will be broadcast at the beginning of each Sabbath so that our followers can watch an uplifting, true to the word, Christian film during the Sabbath or any other day of the week.

I invite you to join me in prayer in asking for God’s will to be done with Renewed Faith Media, and for all we say and do to be to His glory, in Jesus’ name.

We look forward to bringing you our first review!

Peace be with you.

There is Christian media out there that honours the Word of God - you just have to make a determined effort to pick and choose. RFM reviews are based on the films that have focus on the Bible and the Christian values we are supposed to live by, by God's grace.
