Hello everyone, welcome to our monthly book review for, The Names of God, by Marilyn Hickey.
Our review for April is the chapter for the name El-Elohe-Israel, which means, the personal God of Israel.
Marilyn encourages us, straight away, to swap the name Israel for our name or someone who needs prayer - whether that be a loved one or an enemy. This reminds me of 1 Samuel 12:23 that says, Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by ceasing to pray for you - this means we should pray for anyone who is in trouble - that includes our enemies.
This chapter is short and powerful, giving yet another solid example of another name of God.
Our next book review will be at the end of May.
Thank you for reading this review. Until next time - peace be with you.
