Review: Journey Interrupted (Coming Out Ministries)
If you are reading this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a Sabbath filled with the truth of God’s character.
This week’s review is for the documentary, Journey Interrupted, made by the ministry, Coming Out Ministries.
Journey Interrupted shares powerful testimonies by members of the Coming Out Ministries.
Coming Out Ministries Mission
We hear a sea of voices screaming for acceptance, but in their pain failing to see their need of intimacy with God that alone can bring true belonging. ‘Coming Out’ Ministries meets this crisis by sharing their personal journeys, compassion, and the truth of God to bring restoration and liberty to those struggling with sexuality, identity, or brokenness.
This documentary provides powerful testimony of the grace, love and redemptive power of God, through His Son - Jesus Christ. It’s a testimony of God’s presence and faithfulness to His promise to never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). It’s living proof that regardless of how far down hill a life has gone - it can be turned around, because nothing is impossible for God (Matthew 19:26, Mark 10:27, Luke 18:27).
There were many references to Bible verses and rather than list them, I will let you view the documentary and hear the verses in their correct context. Having said this, there is passage that I would like to add to this review that one of the members, Wayne Blakely spoke of: 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 - Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
I have read that verse before, but in the light of this documentary, it really sunk in what it meant for anyone struggling with sin, and in the case of Wayne and the other members - homosexuality.
As I watched this documentary, I praise the Lord for His amazing grace for all mankind - given freely, to all who accept it, through Jesus Christ, our Saviour.
