If you are reading this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a Sabbath full of the knowledge that God is merciful and faithful, at all times. You can find that promise in Lamentations 3:22-23.
This week’s review is for the series, Life Explored, which is a seven part series. This episode is called, The Joyful God.
Description
An exposé of the little gods that promise us so much happiness, yet deliver so little. As it explores the Bible story (creation, fall, redemption, new creation), Life Explored shows how our deepest desires for happiness can only be satisfied in one person, Jesus Christ. The best gift God can give us is Himself.
This is the seventh and last episode in this series and it’s all about where we truly belong. Earth is a temporary place for us, heaven is our home.
The short film at the beginning was too abstract for me. I didn’t fully understand, besides the concept of home, what it was trying to convey. Fortunately, the presentation after that was informative and easy to understand.
This episode is full of the promises we have in the Bible, of the new heaven and new earth that awaits us when Jesus returns. This is a precious promise of Jesus undoing all the wrongs that we read about in the Book of Genesis, chapter three. Some key words were mentioned by Rico Tice - renewed, healed and restored.
Rico references the last book of the Bible - Revelation, chapters 21 and 22, that speak of the new kingdom Jesus sets up, that will have no sin. Hard to be believe? The truth is there, in black and white and God is faithful and cannot lie, as scripture states in Titus 1:1-3
Paul, a bondservant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect and the acknowledgment of the truth which accords with godliness, 2 in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began, 3 but has in due time manifested His word through preaching, which was committed to me according to the commandment of God our Savior;
I am also reminded of what Jesus says in John 14:1-4
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God;[ believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. 4 And you know the way to where I am going.”
Thank you, Heavenly Father. Thank you, Jesus!
