This week’s review is for the program, “The Heavens Declare: Part 9, The Wonder of Magnetism,” which is created, hosted and produced by Kyle Justice from Awesome Science Media.

I really like how the program starts off with a comment about God protecting us - whether people realize it or not. Magnetism is definitely something I don’t give a second thought to on a daily basis - but I did after watching this episode.

Dr. Jason Lisle states that we can learn about the nature of God through Physics

Kyle Justice, the presenter, references: Colossians 1:16 - and how magnetism is one of the many unseen things that have been created through Jesus Christ.

Colossians 1:16

For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.

The experts ask thought provoking questions like:

Why did God make magnetism?

What does magnetism have to do with the northern lights?

Is the earth’s magnetic field decaying?

What does magnetism teach us about God?

Dr. DeYoung mentions that there are probably other shields that haven’t been discovered yet and Dr. Psarris mentioned how we under appreciate magnetism. Even with the little amount known, these experts show how big a role magnetism plays in the creation of the universe.

There was one thing missing in this episode that I’d like to mention

When speaking about the decay of the magnetic field around earth, Dr. DeYoung made a comment about how scientists in the future (about a thousand years from now), might be able to come up with a replacement artificial magnetic field, when the one protecting the earth reaches the end of its decay. I was surprised that there was no mention of the second coming of Jesus Christ in this context. While we don’t know exactly when Jesus is coming (and according to scripture, we shouldn’t), it is the general understanding from scripture, that Jesus will return and renew the earth. So the earth will still be intact when Jesus returns, although the Bible does give details of much tribulation in the days just before Jesus’ return. You can read about the earth’s last days in Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, 2 Timothy 3, and the Book of Revelation, as well as other places in the Bible.

Romans 1:20 is referenced as to why creation scientists continue to study Magnetism and God’s work in general.

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,

SUMMARY

The 9th episode of The Heavens Declare, shows us how little we know, how much there is to discover and how God wants us to search and understand what He has made, so that we see His character and the promise of an eternity in His presence.
