The Heavens Declare: Part 6 (Our Wonderful Moon)
This week’s review is for the program, “The Heavens Declare: Part 6, Our Wonderful Moon,” which is created, hosted and produced by Kyle Justice from Awesome Science Media. Featured Experts: Dr. Danny Faulkner, Dr. Jason Lisle, Dr. Russ Humphreys, Dr. Don DeYoung and Spike Psarris
The experts explore how our moon is integral to our survival on earth and how it couldn’t have come about by natural processes.
The experts explore the wonderful moon God created on the Fourth Day of Creation. Experts share about the origin and purpose of the moon, space flight, craters, maria, the magnetic field, and evidence for the moon being a few thousand years old.
It’s another episode of fascinating facts and discussions about the lesser light, that God created on day four of the six day creation account. I really love hearing the creation account, so I will read Day Four.
14 Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. 16 Then God made two great [d]lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. 17 God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 So the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
Simply amazing! I think I have mentioned before that I want to spend a whole night looking up at the night sky - it is so spectacular!
I found it very interesting how one of the experts mentioned that we still don’t understand and still haven’t fully explored the moon’s function in agriculture. Can you imagine that? There is still so much to know about the moon.
This episode, like the previous one about the greater light, the sun, is packed with information and images about the moon. Dr Danny Faulkner also has a thought provoking message to Christians who think the moon landing was fake.
I really like hearing about how the moon contributes to healthy oceans and how processes used by secular scientists to date the moon are far from accurate.
Through the episode, there is that comforting thread - the correct response to the wonders we see is to worship the Creator, God. This makes me think how the divine being who was born as Jesus Christ into this world was present, with God, when the heavens and earth was created. John 1:1-5, 14-18
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
15 John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.”
16 And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
Don’t miss The Heavens Declare, Our Wonderful Moon Episode 6. The facts, discussions and images point to a powerful, amazing Creator that is known as Father, to those who accept and welcome His desire to be reconnected to His creation.
