Film Review: Violence Is Learned
If you are reading this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a Sabbath filled with the Holy Spirit
This week’s review is the for the short film, Violence is Learned.
Description
This International Media Ministries short focuses on violence.
I think this is the shortest film I have seen. It’s under one minute, but the impact is significant. I was drawn to the expressions on the faces of the victims, especially the little boy at the end. His expression showed the hardness one develops as a victim, but then you also saw him as he truly felt - vulnerable and hurt.
Violence is excused by culture. But God is love. Jesus came to show us the Father and died for us, while we were sinners, because He loves us.
Violence is learned, shows how we, as sinful humans beings, resort to violence, when we lose control and give into the flesh, instead of walking in the Spirit of the Lord.
Galatians 5:16-17 says, But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.
There is another culture beside the country we grew up or the household we were raised in - it’s the culture of heaven and we learn about that culture in the Bible. That’s the culture that ultimately matters.
Please take the time to watch this short film.
Thank you for reading this review. Until next time - peace be with you.
